9/7 Thurs 5:30pm, Freedom Ball will take place at Boone Ctr at Trevecca University, hosted by Drs. Ming Wang and Rice Broocks, featuring the film “Sight” (based on Dr. Wang’s autobiography “From Darkness to Sight”, co-starring Greg Kinnear). The film has recently won the biggest prize as the Best Picture at the 2023 50th ICVM International Christian Film Award!

The proceeds of the Ball ($25/seat, $250/table of 10 seats, with ) go to the 501c(3) non-profit Wang Foundation for Sight Restoration (which to date has helped patients from over 40 states in the U.S. and 55 countries with all sight restoration surgeries performed free-of-charge. The film Sight — starring Terry Chen (Almost FamousFalling) and Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning Greg Kinnear — is based on the true story of Dr. Ming Wang, a poor Chinese immigrant who defied all odds by becoming a world-renowned eye surgeon in the United States. Sight will open nationally in theaters on October 27, 2023.
